Our CEO's Review Makes the Cover of Chemical Society Reviews

Our CEO’s latest publication just made the cover of Chemical Society Reviews at the Royal Society of Chemistry — we could not be prouder.

The review brings together academia and industry to focus on 𝗍𝗁𝖾 𝗅𝖾𝗏𝖾𝗋𝗌 how to achieve greener-by-design processes in fine chemicals manufacturing:

• minimizing or eliminating solvents
• choosing scalable, resilient feedstocks early
• using catalysts that work beyond the lab
• designing processes with continuous manufacturing in mind

𝗜𝗳 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗶𝘁 𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲.

In pharma and chemical manufacturing, the most decisive choices are made early: 𝗌𝗈𝗅𝗏𝖾𝗇𝗍𝗌, 𝖿𝖾𝖾𝖽𝗌𝗍𝗈𝖼𝗄𝗌, 𝖼𝖺𝗍𝖺𝗅𝗒𝗌𝗍𝗌, 𝗉𝗋𝗈𝖼𝖾𝗌𝗌 𝖺𝗋𝖼𝗁𝗂𝗍𝖾𝖼𝗍𝗎𝗋𝖾.

Once those are fixed, improvements later are often 𝗂𝗇𝖼𝗋𝖾𝗆𝖾𝗇𝗍𝖺𝗅, 𝖼𝗈𝗌𝗍𝗅𝗒, 𝖺𝗇𝖽 𝖼𝗈𝗇𝗌𝗍𝗋𝖺𝗂𝗇𝖾𝖽.

This is why 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 is so important.

S𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝗮 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲 — embedded into process architecture, supply strategy, and scale-up decisions from day one.

Seeing this systems-level thinking recognized on an RSC cover signals an important shift in the debate: the discussion is shifting from whether green manufacturing is possible to how it can be built competitively and industrially viable from the start.
